Faiez Kirsten has made it his mission to reprogram the subconscious and reduce stress - and that's just his day job. At night, he's working in the trauma unit at a local hospital and he's using research on brain waves and stress reduction to help people deal with highly stressful situations in the most effective manner.

Dr. Faiez Kirsten notes that 95% of ALL sickness and disease are stress related. The human machine is just not built to handle chronic / ongoing stress, and over time all its systems begin to breakdown. But stress is not inevitable. You can retrain your brain to be more calm in stressful situations. In today's interview, Dr. Kirsten talks about the best ways to deal with stress as it comes up over the course of your day.

Highlights from today's interview:

TEMPORARY VS CHRONIC STRESS

  • Temporary stress is normal and the body is well equipped to handle it.
  • Chronic stress is abnormal. The body is not built to handle it.

4 BRAIN WAVE TYPES

  • There are 4 different main mental states throughout the day
    • Delta – Sleep
    • Theta – deep relaxation / meditation
    • Alpha – calm / visualizing / deep thinking
    • Beta – very active
  • Key point: you can put your brain into whatever state you want by exposing it to the right frequency.

BRAINWAVE ENTRAINMENT

  • Brainwave entrainment is an audio frequency that your brain waves are literally “trained” to match.
    • Has helped Dr. Kirsten survive 4 years in an emergency unit.
    • He requires on average 3 to 4 hours of sleep instead of the normal 8.
    • Runs institute in day and trauma unit at night.. brainwave entrainment has made it possible.
  • When you train your brain on a regular basis… it becomes it’s default frequency.
    • You become a calmer person through listening to BE audios on a regular basis.
    • Even when you’re in a stressful environment, the brain automatically deals with situations in a more effective manner. Whatever happens around you – your brain doesn’t mimic that, or reflect that in the same way anymore.
    • Faiez says you’ll find lots of downloadable brainwave entraining audios online or Itunes. He personally recommends the Transparent Corporation audios.

THOUGHT CONTROL

  • Thought control is having the ability to filter out negative or stressful thoughts as they occur.
    • The subconscious works on stimulus / response mechanism.
      • Key lesson: Thoughts are a form of stimulus that have the ability to stress the body out as if it were in a stressful environment.
  • You must learn to control your thoughts if you are going to free yourself from chronic stress.
    • The good news is that through deliberate intention, you can retrain your subconscious. Over time it becomes easier.
  • You have to intentionally reprogram the subconscious, because sometimes it acts in ways that doesn’t serve our best interests.

GOOD BYE STRESS

  • Faiez talks about the contents of his book, Good Bye Stress
    • The first part is the story of a doctor working in an emergency unit.
      • The doctor uses methods like thought control to manage stress.
      • He also uses EFT – emotional freedom technique.
    • Then Faiez offers a Patho-physiological perspective on stress, explaining what happens neurologically and physiologically to the “human machine” when it’s under stress.

FREEDOM FROM STRESS IS A HOLISTIC PROCESS

  • Faiez recommends using a combination of methods to help retrain and reprogram the brain to be stress free.
    • Brain wave entrainment & EFT are two very powerful ways to dissipate stress within that moment.
    • Other techniques he recommends are:
      • Meditation
      • Exercise
      • Yoga
      • Job analysis (a potentially big source of stress)
      • A total of 10 methods are covered in his book, Goodbye Stress – available at faiezkirsten.com

Dr. Faiez Kirsten is an expert in a field that significantly affects us all whether we like it or not. Chronic stress is not only a killer, but a destroyer of dreams. If you experience ONGOING stress or anxiety on a regular basis, I highly recommend checking out Faiez Kirsten’s website and grabbing a copy of his book at faiezkirsten.com. At the very least, start with some brain entraining audios and start learning how to practice thought control.
