Elijah Warren War Is When The Government Tells You Who The Bad Guy Is... Revolution Is When You Decide That For Yourself...... It Is Well Known That People Of The Nation Do NOT Understand Our Banking And Monetary System, For If They Did, I Believe There Would Be A Revolution Before Tomorrow Morning.............
James Ricks re:Today's battles are fought with public opinion. In a democracy the word "government" is actually supposed to mean "the people" or the will of you and I. Representatives of a democratic government (in essence) must HONOR the will of the people or fear the consequences (loss of office). This is true for every level of representation from Senators to the President. This means that "we the people" hold all the power in a democratic government. We are not victims of government but proprietors of it.
To believe that "the government" is a separate living entity more powerful than the people is an illusion perpetuated by the top 5 media conglomerates (the small handful of people that dominate public opinion through your television sets, magazines, radio etc.) A small handful of people at the top for the most part, set the agenda to be discussed right down to the silly stuff that you see debated on TV) They keep minds trained on entertaining fluff so that you feel well informed while some of the most important issues of this country fly under the radar and aren't even debated. Free speech gets drowned out by the people with the loudest horn (The big 5 horns in this case).
A free country is free only to the extent that people exercise that right. The internet offers an outlet for truth but only for those who take the time to seek it. It's like the modern free press (for now). But there are very few free thinkers and seekers that dare to seek out information beyond what's given to them and form their own opinion. ...
Research into human evolution teaches us that human culture evolved mostly out of tribes and instinctively our minds are imprinted with a tribal mentality - that safety is had through agreement with others. And the big 5 media paint the illusion of what's agreed upon through the oldest method in the world: story. Stories in the news, in movies, on sit-coms. These stories pump into households around the world via a digital campfire 24/7.
SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION TO THIS MADNESS?: All important change begins with a new perspective. Perspective is the product of a new mindset. Mindset is shifted by the power of questions. Here's three questions that may help shift your mindset and produce a new perspective for change:
1) How much time do you spend watching TV?
The brain cannot help but ask questions based on the information it receives. Imagine if multiple people questioned the reputation of someone close to you. Even if you knew they had a clean reputation - repeated questions or false gossip would create some doubts in your mind.
Make the necessary effort to seek out truthful information, or at the very least balanced argument to help you informing your own opinion. (Remember that a great deal is known now about human psychology and motivation and this knowledge and is used on you every day in the form of marketing, mocking balanced debate, etc.)
2) Who benefits most?
Why is information being shared in the first place? Most information has a selfish INTENTION behind it that isn't always obvious. By asking who benefits most - (and seeking the answers through multiple sources) you can discover the true motive - positive or negative.
Historically we find that wars were designed by their greatest benefactors. New drugs were invented (and approved) in spite of their harm. Marketing stretches the truth. In general all information is to be scrutinized with a healthy dose of skepticism. (Even this information!)
3) What are YOU willing to do?
Whatever you're doing today, this week, this month, this year is a testament to your life philosophy. A life philosophy formed by all the information that's gone into your head and weighed by your thoughts since the time you were born. What you are WILLING to do is usually quite different from what you KNOW you should do.
4) Are YOU willing to make a positive impact with your short life?
Notice how goodness connects with greater goodness - example: Henry David Thoreau gave up the rat race of his day to live in nature for two years to write a little book called Walden. The light of his message reached across time and space and influenced Gandhi many years later in his practice of a non-violent approach to political protest. This example bounded across the globe once again to influence Martin Luther King Jr. in political protests during the civil rights movements. The web of goodness is boundless and timeless.
Fortunately you don't have to change the world alone - goodness is dying to find expression through every person that lives. You just have to start somewhere. At the heart of every great dream is goodness, and no dream of the human heart is to be realized in isolation.
