Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it."
-Mark Twain
Forgiving: For giving, for the act of giving, giving of what we hold inside, love and Self.
Love even those who attempt to hurt you, for they are the ones who will break your heart and open it up.
The people who seem to be your worst enemies are your most important spiritual allies.
They are unknowingly showing you what's hidden inside your heart and soul.
They are providing you with the knowledge…

A thought surfacing long before it came to be
Thinking of it’s creation for no reason an no end
Being no one, it took me in
Living the impossible in my own head
Thinking about nothing else
Foolish cries to the thought of never meeting it
Brave mind defying space and time
Spirit meeting the mind in form
Bringing the heart to dance to a beat of a destined trinity

This life shall soon be over
The bodies of today, so animated
Serving new life forms in various ways
What was once so important
In one motion, waves upon the shore
Washed away into oblivion
A smile or a frown
Melt into one
Leaving only a flower

When you normally think of a 'routine' you might think in terms of
actions you perform throughout the day. In an earlier post we
talked about the importance of a 'tight' routine, that is
repetitive activities with a high return on investment. A few
activities I mentioned as an example: meditation, writing, reading,
exercising, eating healthy.
One that I neglected to mention but probably deserves the highest
priority in a 'tight' routine is your thinking. Whereas you might
control other activiti…

Life is hard. It is possible to be happy through denying reality for a while. But to be lucidly happy is to be aware of all that is, including the cruelties and evil of life yet still appreciating that which is enjoyable and finding the positive in that which is not.
Lucid happiness is NOT passive. Lucid happiness is NOT a state of effortless nirvana. Lucid happiness is a choice, an act of will. Lucid happiness does NOT happen to you, it’s something that you decide you want to experience and th…

We are the "Being" in human being.
The being is awareness, consciousness, the Highest self, the inner eye and the witness to human life. It's the gate, the portal to the source of eternal and infinite love, joy and peace.
The human is the form (Body, organs, cells, the brain, neurons, neurotransmitters..) and the mind or Ego (your "about you", your sense of self, your level of knowledge and skill, your instrumental value to society).
Before the age of nine months or so, we were happy, laughing…

The process of self understanding is really the process of self
clarification. Why do I behave the way that I do? What do I truly
value? What do I truly want? What are the highest value actions in
life? These questions are worth deep investigation, for the answers
not only tell us who we are but what we wish to become.

THE RIGHT COURSE
The right course, the right course
Time constraints urge us to move on the right course
The most growth, the most gain
With the least amount of pain
The right course is the efficient course
And how is efficiency measured?
In terms of production minus waste
And how is production measured?
In terms of 'desired gain'
And how are desired gains measured?
Gains that equal pleasure, gains that equal freedom
Pleasure and freedom for whom?
For the greatest number
Pleasure over pain
Freed…

WHY DO HABITS FORM?
Habits preserve conscious processing power. Scientists have concluded the conscious mind is capable of processing up to around 2,000 bits (e.g. 2,000 characters) of information a second whereas the subconscious is capable of processing 4,000,000,000 bits of information a second. What these studies exemplify is that conscious brain power is a limited resource. Therefore, the brain must allocate repetitive information to the subconscious so the conscious can filter new…

There is nothing to win or lose in life.
We leave this world with exactly what we came into it with.
No thing of the material world,
Only our Self.
We are all the same.
Fear is unjustified in a world were there is nothing to lose.
There is no need for stress.
There is no reason to fight.
Love,
We seek it in the wrong places, out there, in the world of form.
When we think we found it, we hold on to it, for fear of losing it.
We get attached to the “sense of self” that the things we gained suppli…

For what is life but this moment.
All our dreams - mental constructions?
All our meanings - perspectives?
All our desires - instinctive?
Is it - could it be that this life is as improbable as the universe?
What are the odds of your creation? What are the odds of us meeting? What are the odds of my existence? What are the odds of human beings even existing? What are the incalculable odds of our conscious evolution?
What is significant depends on the context. This life, this century, this 10,000…

What do you do when your health takes over your life? How many setbacks can a person take in a month, or even a year?
I have third stage lupus and every time I think I’m getting better, something new appears to happen, it is becoming very hard to stay positive, and I’m not one to be negative or give up.
My Dr’s don’t know what to do for me, and I see almost every kind of specialist that there is, all of them tell me I am a complicated case, not one can give me answers as my physical body is dete…

Take time to withdraw from the world, let the mind slow down and observe with clarity what’s important. Do not be fooled by the senses that offer the illusion of ‘aliveness’ where there is only noise. Behind all senses, behind all thought - there you are.
STEPS TO SLOWING THE MIND DOWN
1) Do a focused breathing meditation. Make an effort to get to ten breaths without thinking of anything else. Saying the statement “I’m right here, right now” over and over again while you take each breat…

I woke up this afternoon smiling.. I had a great dream and I'm still wondering about what it really means.. and I want to share it here.. :)
Few days ago, I was a little hurt and feel bruised because of some not-so-good things that I've heard from a certain person. I thought she's a friend to me but it turned out that she's attacking me behind my back. That's actually the reason why I posted "Start Living By What You Know" here in Full Potential.. I was helping and programming myself to have po…

When you set unrealistic standards, you are making a commitment that you just can’t keep. It’s like walking into a gym with the bold plan to lift 500 lb weights your first time. It sounds like a glorious idea and it will make you feel significant to tell people of your high standard. But in practice when you try to lift the weight and it falls on your throat, the experience might cause you so much pain, embarrassment and self disappointment you never attempt to set any standard, or you end up se…

Your will is stronger than your emotions. Instead of living by how you feel, live by what you know. Let me remind you that God is in control, He has a great plan for your life, and His power is greater than any other power. When you begin to have negative or discouraging feelings, shake them off. Even when you do not feel like it, choose to rule over that negative feeling anyway.
Tell yourself: I'm going to be steady, immovable, and full of joy regardless of my circumstances. The more you do so…

When you don't follow through on your own standards, it's like
making a commitment with yourself and then breaking it. Anytime you
break a commitment with yourself you feel a sense of
disappointment. This self disappointment can erode self image
making you feel even worse. If this has been going on for quite
some time you might tell people you lack discipline, you are weak
or lazy and even joke about it as a way to restore some sense of
self image - when laziness becomes apart of your identity y…

but just the other day I heard rumors of me in the air
Oh yes I was hurt, but do you really care.
If you really knew me you would tell the stories of
how I had to crawl
out of the chaotic abyss
and into the light
and how I get to where I stand
I had to fight

fight back my fears

I was recently asked this question by a reporter and I wrote
in response:
Personal standards determine your degree of tolerance. The higher
the standard the less you'll tolerate. Personal standards are
important but of even greater importance is discriminating where to
set standards. If you have high standards for everything - you'll
eventually have a nervous breakdown. But high standards for areas
that are most important are critical for developing motivation to
improve those areas.

Separations are painful. This is a fact.
Unless you are cold and callous, the loss of a loved one is a numbing experience. In these situations, we tend to retreat into a corner and mope.
That is after the crying is done.
Crying may be the best thing you can do for now. You need time, time to cope with the situation, time to heal if you will. Don't deny yourself this period of "mourning' for want of a better word.
You are not a machine, small steps in the right direction are much more importa…

My response:
Soft addictions like coffee, or even email are just as 'real' as hard addictions though it's this perception of them being so small and insignificant that resul…

Journaling can be an important tool in the journey of self awareness.
The conscious brain can only think one thought at a time. This is like being able to only focus on one tree in a forest at a time. Journaling enables the conscious mind to focus and list down each thought, articulating these thoughts more clearly on paper - and then take a step back and see all the trees in the forest from a zoomed out perspective.
In addition journaling offers the writer the ability to reflect and contrast…

I have never maintained a blog before, but there are times when I would love to put my thoughts down in writing and I just don't. My mom was part of a family of 10 nearly all of which are married with kids and my father a family…

Lately, I am having a hard time getting a good sleep.. So when I came across this article by Dennis Thompson, a reporter from HealthDay, I've thought of sharing here some of the important points that he mentioned in his article entitled --
Sleep: A Necessity, Not a Luxury
As things get more hectic, sleep tends to get short shrift. It's seen as wasted time, lost forever.
When a person's sleep drops to six hours or less, that's when a lot of things become very problematic. Lack of sleep affects…

I'm about to start a new life in a new town with a new job.
That's a lot of new things going on, and as always, these changes make me anxious. But it is in my anxiety that I learn more about life and more about myself. I can only hope that I'll always have enough courage to face what I do not know with the humility of a child.
It was during one of those school alumni get togethers that I realized how my confidence has driven me past the borderline of pride. There's nothing wrong with pride, bu…

Why Rainy Days Make Us Tired
Does bad weather make you sleep more soundly? Not really.
By: Colin Allen
Rain may make you feel tired, but it doesn't really help you get a good night's sleep. In fact, sunny weather brings more restful nights, according to research done at the University of Rochester Sleep Laboratory in New York. When the clouds go away, not only do you sleep more soundly, you are more likely to sleep longer.
In the study, 43 subjects were asked to keep sleep diaries for 105 nig…

We often see ourselves in other people. When you say of someone, “I wish I were like him” or when you say the opposite, “I can’t understand why he acts that way,” you see yourself in comparison with the person. In the first case, you noticed what you lack and wish you have. In the second, you see what you have that the other person lacks and should have.
Man is richly gifted with many talents. He can measure the stars—their distance, their size and their numberless years. He can make the mounta…
